Thankful Poem
by Nancy Hinds, Grade 4

Shoop Academy
Fall/2001

I am thankful for my great grandma because most people don’t have one that is living.

I am thankful for my baby sister. Without her I would not have somebody to play with.

I am thankful for my apartment. Without my apartment I would have to live on the streets.

I am thankful for my whole community so we can have fun at the parks and stuff.

I am thankful for Thanksgiving because some people can’t have fun with their family.

I am thankful for my whole family because homeless people don’t have families.

I am thankful for my clothes. Without them I would not have things to wear.

I am thankful for my mom because without her I would not be alive.
